Making yeast sticks with poppy seeds:
Step 1: knead the dough.
Dilute fresh yeast with warm milk so that they “wake up”, dry yeast should be diluted with a small amount of warm water with sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
Sift flour and mix with salt. Add oil, warm water and diluted yeast. Replace the dough well and let it rise in a warm place.
Let the mass rise until it doubles in volume.
Step 2: form the sticks.
Divide the risen dough by 8 equal parts.
Roll out each piece with a rolling pin into a rectangle with a length 23-25 centimeters.
Then roll each rectangle into a roll in the direction from one long side to the other.
Fold the resulting sticks onto a baking sheet covered in parchment.
You should be able to 8 sticks, respectively. Here is more, since I cooked at the rate of 1 kilogram of flour.
Leave the dough upset.
Step 3: grease and bake yeast sticks with poppy seeds.
Mix the flour with warm water, and then add the poppy seeds and brush the yeast dough sticks with the resulting mixture.
Bake over medium heat (170-180 degrees) during 25-30 minutes. Sticks should be covered with a delicious golden crust.
After taking the pastries out of the oven, grease them with icing and sugar and serve. Sticks with poppy seeds are good both warm and after completely cooled.
Step 4: serve the yeast sticks with poppy seeds.
Serve yeast sticks with poppy seeds to the table as a fragrant treat. You can offer them jam, butter or jam, but even without everything, just with milk or tea, coffee, this pastry will be perfect.
Enjoy your meal!
